Tinnie Trip to the Warburton

Location:
Warburton Creek forms downstream from the confluence of the Diamantina and Georgina rivers in Goyder Lagoon, and flows in a south-westerly direction for about 150 km before discharging into Lake Eyre. Starting at Stoney Crossing on Kalamurina Station, we launch the Tinnies & travel 60km to Wetlands camp to refuel before continuing to the Warburton Groove (140km) then retrace our track (about 400km round trip). Each participant must be completly self resourced, Tinnie(11-12 foot),. 15 hp motor, ability to take 220 litres of fuel, camping equipment, radios, food & water for at least 7 days on water. Zodiac to be towed on water with fuel for part of the journey. Starting with a 2 day drive from Adelaide. Support vehicles, towing fuel trailers will be needed as well to act as backup for the Tinnie troupe. Convoy minimum of 3 tinnies plus Support crew.
