Victorian High Country Scenic

Location:

Scenic tour of the Vic high country. Spend 5 days off grid, camping alongside rivers and enjoying the stunning scenery of the V.H.C. Traverse the many valleys and mountain tops, with lots of river crossings and exciting ascends and descends.

Details:

Day 1. Meet at Licola at 5pm utilising the complementary undercover BBQ area with its fire pit for dinner and drinks.
Day 2. Optional day trip to Walhalla. A well preserved 161-year-old historical town that has been used as a backdrop for several movies. Take a gold mine tour and do scenic walks around the town.
Day 3 to 5. Leave Licola and traverse the VHC Ridge line drives, ascends to mountain tops, descends to valleys and camp next to pristine rivers.
Day 6. Travel towards Jamieson on the all weather road that continues at elevation, providing stunning scenic views. Camp along the Jamieson River, approx. 10-15km east of Jamieson.
Day 7. Rest day to do as you wish. Day trip to Jamieson, swim or fish the river, circular bushwalk or enjoy the tranquillity of relaxing by the river.
Day 8. Trip ends leaving the campsite at your leisure. Easy drive back to the bitumen via the Jamieson / Licola rd. Must have A/T’s with 50% tread. Recovery gear including 4 x traction boards if no winch and tyre repair kit.
